A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT ME
MY VISION OF DESIGN

We are living in a world with limited resources. Yet we are using these resources like they ‘‘grow from the trees’’. I feel like we have the responsibility to prevent our future generations to live in a damaged world, without having to sacrifice our own wellbeing in the years we live on this planet.
While maintaining sustainability as a key element in all projects, I have started specialising in innovation projects with the goal to improve physical (and mental) performance or rehabilitation. This specialisation can be seen most clearly in my Master projects and graduation project.

In order to achieve a high desired level of value and meaning, I like to do a good amount of research. By formulating and discussing the project goals and (boundary) requirements, this research can be done highly efficient. After finding the right innovation direction, conceptualisation will follow using a range of design methods. Again, using clever research, the concept(s) should be validated. I like to see this cycle of research, creative problem solving and testing again as my core strength to create meaningful innovation.

While I would describe my core strength as an "analytical concept designer", I am educated as an integrated product designer, which means that I have the skills AND the drive to complete an entire project development cycle including prototyping, sketching, (CAD) modelling, constructing and presenting of results. I strongly believe that being included throughout the entire process, the end-result will become much more valuable.
